Iran enjoys one of the most strategic and advantageous logistics positions in the world, serving as a crossroads for several major international transport corridors. This unique location creates significant opportunities for smooth and efficient freight traffic along international railway corridors, particularly the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC).
According to the Public Relations Department of RWT Company, during the 6th International Exhibition of Transportation, Logistics and Related Industries, Dr. Sedighi, Chief Executive Officer of the company, gave an interview to Khabar Fori News Agency. While introducing the company and its domestic and international capabilities, he stated that RWT is one of the largest railway transportation companies in Iran and operates under the Railway Employees Savings Fund. The company has consistently played a prominent role in both domestic and international rail freight transportation and has achieved the leading position in the field of rail transit transportation through continuous market development efforts.
Referring to the company’s large and diversified railway fleet, Dr. Sedighi outlined some of the company’s future plans aimed at activating and expanding its representative offices in neighboring countries connected to Iran’s railway network. He noted that over recent years the company has maintained productive cooperation with domestic railway and mining enterprises and remains committed to expanding its cross-border operations through representation in new markets, thereby contributing to foreign exchange earnings for the country.
Highlighting Iran’s geopolitical significance, he emphasized that the country occupies one of the most favorable logistics locations globally and serves as a junction point for numerous international corridors. He further stated that with government support for the private sector and the increasing preference of traders and businesses for rail transportation, Iran can expect substantial growth in freight traffic along international rail corridors, especially the North-South Corridor, in the years ahead.
